Off-White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'UNC'

In Greek mythology, Nike is the Winged Goddess of Victory. The logo of Nike the brand is derived from goddess' wing,‘swoosh’, which symbolises the sound of speed, movement, power and motivation.

As far as it concerns the Off - White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'UNC' it was a collab between Nike and Off-white , and presents an original variation paying tribute to the University of Carolina, often called UNC. It refers to the university where Michael Jordan played before joining the NBA at the beginning of his career.

Inspired by the Greek goddess Nike and the connection of the brand with her, I wanted to create a piece that represented the story of both brands and the specific model.

Taking you with me through my thoughts, I decided to draw Nike the goddess, with the colours of UNC, as it's the colours of the shoe. Surrounding the statue of Nike, wanted to look like ancient Greek designs, are the Off-White's tiny logos. Last but not least, I wanted to have somewhere the key characteristics for "Off-White x Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'UNC'" so I used as outlines on the sides the elements "nike", "air", "unc" and "05.23.18" with the classic off-white's quotation marks
